Project leader of soil fertility/chemistry
research, Texas Agricultural Experiment Station, Corpus Christi, Texas. The
soils research program evaluates the plant nutrient requirements and nutrient
utilization efficiencies of major crops as affected by factors such as soil
physical, chemical and microbiological properties; conservation and conventional
tillage system/crop rotation interactive effects on nitrogen mineralization; and
crop utilization of fertilizer and organically based nitrogen, phosphorus and
iron. disease control of cotton root rot through improved host plant nutrition
utilizing chemical-biological source of trace elements is an important research
thrust.
