Development of Research Facilities
Developed an automated computerized system to collect, transfer, inspect, and archive hourly data recorded by a network over 30 weather stations located in the Coastal Plains of Texas. Developed a Web-based framework (http://cwp.tamu.edu) for online delivery of a decision support system for crop management that provides access to weather databases and the suite of Web-based applications (crop management tools).
Designed and built a fully automated laboratory to study whole-plant water economy and drought tolerance in crop plant species.
Designed and built automated system of controlled-environment bioreactors to quantify growth responses of microal­gae cultures (population dynamics and biomass accumulation) to photosynthetic photon flux density, temperature, pH, salinity, carbon dioxide and nutrients supply.
Built a ground-based remote sensing system to measure geo-referenced canopy height, leaf temperature, leaf reflectance, and high-resolution digital canopy imagery.
